JOURNAL #19

       I think that school attendance should be mandatory because good attendance leads to good grades. If school attendance was not mandatory then most students would choose not to come to school. Once everyone stops coming to school then less and less people will be educated in America and this would lead to more crimes in our society. Education is the foundation of which every country thrives on so without education our nation would become illiterate and unable to prosper as we have in the past. If we become stagnant then we will be unable to keep up with competitors in foreign countriesand never be able to become mor than what we are.
      Another reason we need school to have mandatory attendance is because if we don't it would lead to poblems such as crime. Crime would increase because with out education then people will begin to lack the common sense required to make good decisions. The increase in crime would lead to things such as increase in taxes in order to pay for the amount of people in jail. Then that fact that less people are being educated does not just affect the people being educated but everyone in the society.


What would happen if attendance was not mandatory?



      Less people being educate will also lead to more people being homeless because they will not be able to find adequate jobs. Some people might say that if you get to choose to go to school or not it will prepare you for life and teach you how to make good decisions. However I do not believe that is a true statement. I believe that by not making attendance mandatory it would only lead to bad things.

JOURNAL #20

          If I could choose to communicate with one specie of animal I would choose to  communicate with primates. I would choose primates because they are almost as intellectually as advanced as humans are. I would be curious to see how they see the world and how that view of the world effects what they believe and also comprehend. Primates are interesting animals due to the fact that they have the ability to accomplish difficult task at and alarming rate, even faster than that of humans.
        I would also want to be able to communicate with primates because they seem to be an extraordinary specie of animal. They seem like they are really intelligent beings that no one is able to understand completely one hundred percent, enhancing my curiosity about them. If I could talk to primates i would be able to answer every question any scientist has ever wondered about this specie of animal.

Babies are not much different from baby primates

       I would also like to talk to primates that live in different circumstances. For instance ones that live in the zoo versus ones that are pets versus ones that live free in their natural habitat. I would like to know how each feel about living in the conditions they do. It would be interesting to see how differently or similarly they thing about different subjects.
      By communicating with primates we might began to realize that we are not that different from a monkey or chimpanzee.
